2017 Lexus RC F And GS F
Toyota's luxury brand has improved
their handling stability and ride comfort by adding an Adaptive Variable
Suspension (AVS) for Lexus GS F and RC F.
Based on driver preferences and road-surface
conditions, the system, which offers 30 levels of damping force, switches
automatically as required and monitors and controls the damping force at the
wheels by using a range of sensors to ensure precise suspension control on all
types of roads.
Working together with the cars' safety systems, the
AVS is linked to the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) and Drive
Mode Select Control, prioritizing ride comfort to improve stability in Eco,
Normal, and Sport S modes.
When Sport S+ mode, which switches the
powertrain, electric power-assisted steering, and VDIM stability control to
their most aggressive settings, is selected, the damping force control focuses
on handling stability.
Both cars feature an updated graphics display;
there's also a new grey exterior color for the GS F, and a new black paint for
the RC F. The latter also benefits from new machine-finished alloy wheels. The RC 350 Luxury and Sports Luxury have received a front performance
body damper, which was previously available on the RC 350 F Sport.
