2017MY Mitsubishi ASX hit UK
dealerships starting November 1st. The updated ASX boasts Mitsubishi's
"Dynamic Shield" visual identity, as well as a shark-fin antenna,
revised seat cushions, new seat upholstery across the range and a new
"Lightning Blue" exterior color.
The range itself has also been changed into ASX 2, ASX 3, ASX 4 and ASX 5 format to go with the updated trim levels.
The engines have been carried over from the
outgoing model. This means that customers will still be able to choose between
the 117 HP 1.6-liter MIVEC petrol, the 114 HP 1.6-liter DI-D diesel and the 150
HP 2.2-liter DI-D diesel engines.
With the ASX 2 being the entry-point to the ASX
range, it's comforting to know that Mitsubishi is still offering a high level
of standard equipment which includes 16" alloys, front fog lamps, air
conditioning, Bluetooth connectivity, USB port with iPhone compatibility,
leather-trimmed steering wheel, multifunction color instrument display,
electric windows front & rear, rear privacy glass and arm rests for front
& rear occupants. Standard safety gear includes Mitsubishi Active Stability
and Traction Control, Hill Start Assist and seven airbags.
Moving further up in the range is the ASX 3 which
for £ 18,349 (1.6 petrol) and £ 20,349 (1.6 diesel) adds two-tone 18"
alloys, black wheel-arch garnishes, automatic climate control, keyless entry
& operation, cruise control, automatic light and rain sensors, xenon
headlights with washers, DAB radio and Bluetooth music streaming, an
auto-dimming rear view mirror, heated front seats, electric-folded door mirrors
and a reversing camera which is new on 2017MY versions.
The ASX 4 features four-wheel drive as standard and
is available with the 1.6 diesel and 2.2-liter diesel automatic. Other standard
features include leather upholstery, black roof rails, an aluminum pedal kit
(new for 2017), panoramic glass roof and the Mitsubishi Multi Communication
System. Pricing starts at £ 24,249 for the 1.6-liter diesel 4WD model and
£ 25,649 for the 2.2-liter diesel automatic 4WD.
The ASX 5 is supposed to be the premium
edition of the ASX, due in January 2017. The seats are covered in rich Nappa
leather (choice of three colors), while features such as the heated rear seats,
power-adjustable driver's seat, twin rear USB charging ports, LED interior
lighting and front-door entry guards are standard.
The Mitsubishi ASX 5 1.6 turbo diesel 4WD will
retail from £ 26,949, while the 2.2-liter diesel model will cost upwards of
£ 28,349.
