2017 Nissan Frontier (Brazil)
The new generation of Nissan Frontier will arrive in
the first quarter of 2017. Presented at the São Paulo Motor Show, the pickup
will arrive with a new 2.3-liter twin turbo engine with 190 horsepower. Initially,
the pickup will arrive in top-of-the-line version imported from Mexico, new
options will only be available when air production starts at the end of 2017.
According to Nissan, the new generation of the
pickup has gained reinforced chassis, four times more durable, while being
lighter and more efficient. With eight cross bars, the chassis counts another
overlap on the inside with continuous welds, a solution called a double
"C".
The design of the truck follows the DNA of the brand
and appears in items such as the "V Motion" grille and the boomerang
shaped headlights. In this new generation the pickup is 5.25 m long, 1.75 m
high and 1.85 m wide.
The Japanese brand claims that the interior has been
designed with dimensions, safety and comfort suitable for driver and passengers,
extending the dashboard space, center console and seats for advanced
functionality and much more tranquility in driving.
The top-of-the-line version will feature
leather-lined seats, and the new design distributes weight optimally and
evenly. The rear seats are foldable, offering easy access to the bottom to
accommodate tools and the jack to change the wheels.
The Frontier has three 12V outlets; Auxiliary
inputs; IPod docking station; Bluetooth, cup holders, steering wheel audio
controls and a complete multimedia system. Among the equipment that should be
offered in the pickup are the automatic descent control (HDC) and the ramp
departure aid system (HSA). The pickup will also feature load limiter and
height adjustment for the two front seatbelts, LED brake light (CHMSL), parking
sensor, among other items.
The pickup will be equipped
with the new 2.3 turbodiesel engine, which develops 190 horses and delivers
45.8 kgfm of torque. The exchange is also new, the pickup will have the
automatic transmission of seven speeds, which allows manual mode changes.
In terms of safety, the truck is equipped with the
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), which combines electronic stability control
systems for traction to give even more peace of mind and safety when driving the
utility. Also included in the package are front airbags, three-point seat
belts, child safety lock on rear doors and immobilizer alarm.
