2017 VW Vento ‘Preferred’ edition

Volkswagen has launched a new special edition model in India dubbed VW Vento ‘Preferred’.

The VW Vento Preferred is targeted at corporate executives who want more from the car. It’s equipped with several additional exterior and interior features, such as alloy wheels, roof foil, side moulding, leather seat covers and a portable navigation system with a wireless reversing camera. The special edition is based on the Comfortline trim level and these accessories are available individually as well.

The VW Vento Preferred is available with all the three engine options of the VW Vento range. The base petrol engine is a 1.6-litre MPI naturally aspirated four-cylinder unit developing 105 PS and 153 Nm of torque, linked to a 5-speed manual transmission. Moving up the range, there’s a smaller but even more capable, 1.2-litre TSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that puts out 105 PS and 175 Nm of torque, and it is paired to the 7-speed DSG transmission.

For those preferring diesel, there’s the recently updated 1.5-litre TDI turbocharged four-cylinder unit good for 110 PS and 250 Nm of torque. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DSG transmission. Volkswagen says that the Vento Preferred “is attractively priced”, but the actual figure is available only at dealerships.
