2018 VW Touareg

With Volkswagen's new design language clearly headed in the direction previewed by the T-Prime GTE Concept, imagining the all-new Touareg isn't a difficult mental exercise.

We do know that the 2018 Touareg, like the Audi Q7, will sit on VW's new MLB-Evo architecture. This means a lot less weight, plenty of aluminum and probably a more rigid chassis.

There's definitely going to be a great deal more tech inside as well, with the latest safety and connectivity features being made available to customers willing to pass on rival models in favor of a new large SUV from Volkswagen.

Performance-wise, a plug-in hybrid drive such as the one showcased on the T-Prime GTE would definitely do the job. It's got 375 HP, 699 Nm of torque and an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
