Bajaj Dominar 400
Bajaj Auto has announced to start production of Bajaj
Dominar 400, at the Chakan plant in Maharashtra, India. The first batch of the
motorcycle rolled out yesterday.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 is the production version of
the Bajaj CS400 concept introduced at Auto Expo 2016. As expected, the production version looks very close to the
concept in terms of design and styling. It will be launched in India by 15
December.
The Bajaj Dominar 400 is powered by a modified
version of the KTM Duke 390‘s 373.2 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine.
This unit delivers 44 hp in the KTM Duke 390, but for the Bajaj Dominar 400,
reports say that it has been detuned to 34.5 hp. It’s linked to a 6-speed
transmission.
Telescopic front suspension, monoshock rear
suspension, front and rear disc brakes, LED headlamp, fully digital instrument
cluster and tell-tale lights are some of the key aspects of the Bajaj Dominar
known so far. Some reports say that single-channel ABS will be standard and
dual-channel ABS will be optional, while some say that ABS will be available
only optionally.
The Dominar 400’s expected to be priced from around
INR 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
