BMW 1-Series Sedan
BMW
has officially dropped the curtain for the new 1-Series Sedan. Aimed specifically at the Chinese market and
developed on the brand's global platform, the compact four-door is on display
at the 2016 Guangzhou Auto Show, where it hopes to attract a few potential
customers, from the young generation.
It's easily identifiable as a
BMW, bringing the double kidney grille, double round headlights with LED
technology, L-shaped taillights, long hood, and short overhangs, while inside,
consumers are greeted by an 8.8-inch LED central screen for the iDrive system,
full-color head-up display, dual-zone climate control and leather trim, among
others.
BMW has yet to announce the official trim level
details, but states that the new 1-Series Sedan is also available with Lane
Departure Warning, Collision Warning, Pedestrian Warning, and Emergency
Assistance function.
Power across the range is provided by the latest
1.5-liter and 2.0-liter turbo engines, mated with a six-speed, and eight-speed
Steptronic transmission, respectively. Additionally, the car also benefits from
auto stop/start and brake energy regeneration, which work together with one of
the three driving modes - Comfort, Sport, and Eco Pro, to drop the average fuel
consumption to 5.5 lt/100 km (42.77 mpg US).
