E.V.C.
(Expedition Vehicle Concept)
The E.V.C
(Expedition Vehicle Concept) is a creation of Prodan Dragos, the same designer
who developed the Fiat Sentiero concept. Dragos graduated from the George
Enescu University in Iasi, Romania in 2009.
The EVC is
designed to be a versatile and adaptable vehicle which can be configured in a
variety of ways to suit the users needs. It can be changed from an enclosed
camping vehicle to an open top boulevard cruiser in a matter of minutes. A
250 mm ground clearance, durable nano-polymere body and powerful 4x4
hybrid drivetrain lend the EVC a degree of off road potential for exploration
and utility uses.
The interior
of the EVC features four full-size seats, with an incredible amount of legroom
for the rear seat passengers. The front seats can be swiveled around to face
backwards and make use of this extra space when parked up. To increase the
interior space when stationary, the rear of the vehicle can be extended to
allow the rear seats to fold out flat and provide a sleeping area. The interior
is nice and bright thanks to a range of different sized hexagonal windows set
into the roof which also acts as photovoltaic cells for helping provide
additional electrical charge.
Mounted up
front are three workboxes built into the vehicles bodywork. They can be used to
carry anything from power tools, boots and work clothes, to camping gear and
additional cargo. Waterproof and drainable, they can be easily accessed from
outside the vehicle.
Another
multifunction feature of the concept are the headlights. When parked up they
can be removed, and thanks to an internal battery pack, used as a hand held
flashlight.
