Lexus Sriracha IS
Lexus joined forces with Huy Fong Foods for the Lexus Sriracha
IS, done up by the pros at West Coast Customs.
The Sriracha IS gets a
special paint job, with Sriracha sauce in the paint itself, complete with
chili-like flakes. The custom paint job was designed to mimic the appearance of
Sriracha sauce inside the bottle, topped with a clear coating.
The sauce bottle cap’s green colour is replicated on
the IS’ spindle grille outline, brake calipers, cabin mood lighting, wing
mirror accents and seat stitching, the latter with Huy Fong’s rooster logo on
the sides. Custom badging on the side, rear and door wells further identify
this red hot sedan.
Sriracha-like liquid was cast in resin, then formed into a Lexus steering
wheel, complete with a warning for “Hot Handling”, and the settings for the
seat warmers and AC system have been changed to go from cool to Sriracha hot.
Similarly, Sport mode has been change to Sriracha. The clincher is a key fob
that includes an emergency chili button that dispenses the sauce from a nozzle
on the fob.
Wrapping things up is the sauce itself, 43 bottles
of it in the boot. Lexus recommends a Sriracha driving jacket (hand-embroidered
images and custom patches) and a pair of driving mitts.
