MBK Flipper 125
MBK will offer next summer a new version equipped with 2
technologies in 2017: a Euro 4 engine and combined braking.
MBK has chosen to equip its Flipper 2017 with a brand new 125cc four-stroke
single cylinder with 2 valves and overhead camshaft. Thanks to the work of
Yamaha engineers around the "Blue Core" technology, this engine
offers a fair compromise between power (8.4 hp / 9.8 Nm) and fuel consumption
(up to 70.5 km/liter).
To accompany this climb in displacement without
losing in maneuverability, the MBK Flipper 125 saw its chassis evolve. We will
note the efforts of the manufacturer to maintain a wheelbase as short as
possible (1275 mm) and a weight below the 100 kilos all full. The
flat floor excavated and the saddle perched at 800 mm (versus 755 before)
promise a pleasant and safe driving position.
The part-cycle has also been designed to reassure
novice or inexperienced pilots. This is the case for 6-spoke 10" and 12" tires with specific tires. Or UBS combined braking with Ø 130 mm drum and Ø 180
mm disc, a guarantee of smooth and controlled braking even in emergency
situations. A formula certainly not very innovative but in perfect match with
the performance of the new Flipper 125.
The latest significant development concerns the
design which, with its wide black V-shaped grille, is a reflection of
"European elegance". Without detailing the subtle changes in the
lines of the cladding, MBK took the opportunity to look at their functional
dimension. The trunk thus gains in volume (an integral helmet enters) while the
fuel tank passes from 4.4 to 5.5 liters, for a boosting autonomy.
The comfort duo has also gained in change, MBK
having grafted on his Flipper 125 a long two-seat saddle (630 mm) associated
with a more ergonomic holding bar. This novelty will be available in MBK
dealers in spring 2017 in white or brown.
