Mercedes-Benz New E-Class Coupe (spy shot)
Mercedes-Benz is apparently waiting for the 2017
NAIAS in January to unveil the latest addition to the new E-Class
family, the Coupe. Autocar reports that
the executive model will go on sale next spring, sporting a familiar styling
that will mimic the look of the two-door C-Class and S-Class.
The new E-Class Coupe will adopt all of its
features, from the dual-screen digital instrument cluster and infotainment
system to the modular MRA platform, which also underpins the two aforementioned
models.
The car will be offered
with different petrol and diesel powertrains, but it's currently unknown
whether the plug-in hybrid variant, which uses a 2-liter turbo and an electric
motor on the E350e sedan, will be part of the lineup.
One of the most anticipated versions however, will
have nothing to do with eco-friendliness, as it will wear the AMG E63 and AMG
E63 S badges, signaling the presence of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. The
range-topping AMG is set to make its debut later on.
