New Chevrolet Colorado ZR2
At the Los Angeles Auto Show, the American automaker
released a halo model for its Colorado line-up, capable of tackling rough
terrain thanks to a plethora of upgrades and enhancements.
Although the ZR2 is based on the standard car, it
features a new, lifted Multimatic’s DSSV suspension setup, a wider track, 17x8
inch aluminum wheels wrapped in 31-inch Goodyear Duratrac off-road tires, and
steel-tube rocker protectors – just to name a few.
In charge of making the truck a capable offloading
machine, is the advanced four-wheel-drive system that can offer nine driving
configurations; everything from pure RWD to 4WD with locked transfer case and
front and rear differentials.
Powering the model is a 308 hp and 372
Nm of torque 3.6-litre V6, or a Duramax diesel delivering 181 hp and 500 Nm of torque.
Chevrolet says the Colorado ZR2 is trail-ready right
off the bat, and there’s no reason not to believe them.
