Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro
Toyota announced the 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro, the most capable off-road
iteration of the model that launched last fall.
The TRD Pro comes with a
factory-installed off-road package tuned by TRD that includes FOX 2.5 internal
bypass shocks, front springs with a 1-inch lift, rear suspension with
progressive-rate off-road leaf spring and a cat-back stainless steel exhaust
system.
Under the bonnet lies a
278 hp 3.5-litre V6 engine paired to either a six-speed manual or automatic
gearbox. A part-time 4WD with a transfer case will be standard to all models,
with Toyota further adding an oil cooler, power steering cooler and a 130-amp
alternator.
The new
Tacoma TRD Pro can be distinguished by the heritage-inspired front grille, the
blacked-out hood scoop, new projector-beam headlights and taillights with black
bezels, a set of 16-inch TRD black alloy wheels shod with Kevlar-reinforced
tires, an aluminum front skid plate, black overfenders and many more.
The cabin is now
decorated with numerous TRD accessories as you would expect while the heated
seats are dressed in leather. A 4.2-inch digital display in the driver’s gauges
hosts an integrated inclinometer and tilt gauge among projecting other useful
information.
Pricing starts at US$ 40,760
for the Double Cab manual version with the automatic priced from US$ 42,760.
