Ferrari F12M (spy shot)
The Italian V12 appears to be
readying its next appearance in updated form, here spotted wearing camouflage.
Sources suggest the updated V12 two-seater will be called the F12M, possibly as
a tribute to the Modificato moniker which graced the final, flat-12 of the
Testarossa, the 512M, as well as the 575M.
As a mid-lifecycle update, the
F12M is expected to develop upon the existing car, with the 6.3 litre
naturally-aspirated V12 massaged and coaxed to greater output figures, possibly
somewhere in between the F12berlinetta’s 740 hp and the F12tdf‘s 770 hp.
The
F12M can be expected to improve upon the F12berlinetta’s performance figures of
0-100 km/h in just over three seconds, 0-200 km/h in 8.5 seconds and a top
speed of more than 340 km/h. The updated car can also be
expected to incorporate rear-wheel steering which made its debut on the
limited-run F12tdf and subsequently the GTC4Lusso, for improved agility and
stability.
Visually, we can expect the F12M
to adopt current Ferrari design nuances, with sharper, more geometric lines
which grace the likes of the 488 GTB and the GTC4Lusso, particularly when
compared with their predecessors, the 458 Italia and the FF.
In line with the design cues of
the latest from Maranello, the tail lamp is partly visible here through the
covers, showing the circular ring design employed on the 488 GTB and the Lusso.
