Next gen Maruti Gypsy (render)
If Maruti
were to consider an outright SUV to sit between the Vitara Brezza and the
S-Cross, they could consider a replacement of the tough-as-teeth Maruti Gypsy,
which has so far found a bulk of its customers from central and state governments.
To give an idea of what a next gen Maruti Gypsy
would look like, IAB’s Shoeb R Kalania has created an imaginative rendering. If
Maruti were to consider such a product, it will rival the Mahindra TUV300 and
Bolero Power+, appealing to customers looking for a true blue SUV.
The Gypsy recently lost an Indian Army contract to
the Tata Safari Storme, reportedly, as they were looking for a safer product
and has more power from an engine that runs on diesel, the cheaper and more
readily available fuel. The Gypsy is powered by a 1.3L 4-cyl petrol engine with
80 hp and 103 Nm of torque.
