Team-BHP member, RavenAvi, has uploaded several spyshots of the Tata Kite 5
(codename) that reveal the production-spec sub-4m sedan in full glory. The
model spied appears to be the top-end ‘XZ’ variant and is finished in an
exclusive paint color not available in other Tata products.
The XZ variant will get new
alloy rims with diamond cut finish, chrome window line, ORVM-mounted turn
indicators, a thick chrome bar connecting the two taillamps, and a long LED
third brake light. It could also get projector headlamps like the units seen in
the pre-production concept at Auto Expo 2016.
Although the boot appears to look small and stubby,
the Kite 5 is claimed to offer a capacity of 420 litres, which is a
class-leading figure. It has an all black interior with black upholstery with
contrast silver and chrome accents.
The Tiago-based sedan is tipped to arrive in
showrooms in mid-2017. If it is priced along the lines of the Tiago, it could
be the least expensive sedan in India, which is expected to raise attention
among buyers of the Maruti Dzire and Honda Amaze. An earlier report said the Kite 5 could be called
the Tata Viago or the Tata Altigo.
