Volkswagen is showcasing the 2017 VW Golf at the
Vienna Auto Show. The 2017 VW Golf features a moderately updated exterior with
modified bumpers, new halogen headlights with LED daytime running lights/new
full LED headlights (replacing xenon headlights), reshaped central air intake
and new full LED tail lights.
A 12.3-inch fully digital virtual instrument cluster
and a 9.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with gesture control are the
biggest changes to the 2017 VW Golf’s interior. Even the base model comes with
a 6.5-inch colour infotainment system. The Traffic Jam Assist, which uses the
combination of Lane Assist lane departure warning system the adaptive cruise
control, controls the car at speeds of up to 60 km/h in traffic.
The 2017 VW Golf is available with a new petrol
engine, the “1.5-litre TSI Evo” four-cylinder unit that develops 150
PS in one configuration with Active Cylinder Management and 130 PS in
another configuration with Active Cylinder Management which is a Bluemotion
variant. A new 7-speed DSG transmission will replace all 6-speed DSG
transmissions gradually.
