A new rendering of the 2017 Yamaha R25 has appeared
on the Young Machine. The rendering of the bike follows the design
language of the R6 as well as the livery seen in the 2017 Yamaha R3 sold in the
United States.
The Yamaha R25 facelift is expected to emerge in a
sportier avatar with upside down forks up front and possibly a sportier riding
position. Headlamps are expected to be LEDs. Moreover, with the Yamaha R15 v3.0
getting a slipper clutch and R25 aiming to emerge as a sportier motorcycle, it
might get that feature as well.
The 249 cc in-line liquid cooled, fuel injected mill
works in tandem with a six-speed gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 36
PS of maximum power at 12,000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of peak torque at 10,000 rpm.
The Yamaha R25 will be competing against the
Kawasaki Ninja 250, the recently launched Honda CBR250RR and the Suzuki
GSX250R.
