The new F-150 has been revealed today at the
2017 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. From XL to the
range-topping Limited, all models of the 2018 Ford F-150 feature new grilles,
headlamps and bumpers. The facelifted F-150 gets even all-new six all-new wheel
designs with sizes ranging from 17- to 22-inches, a new sculpted tailgate with
deeper accent form and new tail lamp designs.
Inside, the 2018 Ford F-150 will be available with
two new seating trim colors – Dark Marsala (Platinum) and Navy Pier (Limited),
carbon-fiber appearance appliques (XLT Sport and Lariat Sport) and new
Kingsville Appointed seats (King Ranch). Technology highlights of the new F-150
include segment-first adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality
and Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, embedded 4G LTE modem for a
Wi-Fi hotspot and new B&O PLAY audio system.
The most important change in the Ford F-150 range
arriving with the facelift is in the engine options. New F-150 buyers will be
able to select an all-new 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel engine. The standard
3.5-liter V6 engine has been replaced by an all-new, standard 3.3-liter V6
engine. The 5.0-liter V8 engine will have significant upgrades for increased
power and torque and will be paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission for
the first time.
The 2018 Ford F-150 will be built at the Dearborn
Truck Plant in Michigan, and Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo, Missouri.
The facelifted model will go on sale in the U.S. market in Fall 2017
(September-December 2017).
