A low-speed
electric vehicle (LSEV) maker from China’s Shandong Province didn’t
make just a joke, they actually did it: they cloned a Zotye, the E200 EV to be precise, and they
called it the Tieke E200.
The Tieke e200 is made by a company called Shandong Litong, based in Wucheng County, Dezhou City, Shandong
Province. They make a whole lot of weird LSEVs including one with an Audi grille with five rings on it and one with an Audi
grille with three rings on it.
The Tieke 200 is much cheaper than the E200. Price
ranges from 13.600 yuan to 16.200 yuan (US$ 1961 – 2336). And it has one very big
advantage: it seats three whereas the E200 seats only two. There are various
power trains available in the Tieke 200. The most basic model has an electric
motor with 1.6 hp mated to a 48V/60A lead-acid battery. Range is 45 kilometers
and top speed 40 km/h. The top end model has a massive 3 hp and is mated to a
60V/100A lead-acid. Range is 110 kilometers and top speed is 60 km/h, although
legally these LSEVs can’t go faster than 40 km/h.
Shandong Litong neatly copied the two-tone paint
job, the rear spoiler, the rear windshield, the rear lights, and the bumper
with its strangely shaped fog lights. The C-pillar looks very similar too, and
the copycat even cloned the shape of the lower door.
The Tieke 200 can be had with a steering wheel or
with a handle bar. This steering wheel looks sporty with a flat bottom and
three spokes. There is a glove box, a radio, and some nicely shiny fake wood.
The driver sits in the middle, just like in a McLaren F1. On the left side a
tiny screen for the rear-view parking camera.
The seating configuration is 1+2, again just like in
the McLaren. The rear-view camera in action and a closeup if the
ultra cool instrument panel that looks as 1980’s as 1981.
The radio has a USB and a TF slot, and it can play
MP3 files. It also has a fake-carbon fiber panel. Fake wood looks rather good.
