The new XG750R was specially built for flat track
racing, coming with a dedicated chassis and a race-modified, liquid-cooled,
fuel-injected 750 cc Revolution X V-twin engine that was initially meant for
the Street 750. Both chassis and engine modifications have been made with the
help of Vance & Hines Motorsports.
The XG750R was put through a development season back
in 2016 alongside the old air-cooled Factory Team XR750 bikes. The latter has
carried racers to numerous victories and 37 AMA Grand National Championships in
44 seasons of competitions.
Although the XG750R is not a production model, the
750 cc XG Revolution X V-twin can be had through Harley-Davidson dealers and
can be modified for racing purposes by aspiring private racers.
Harley-Davidson has also revealed its 2017 flat
track team with AMA Pro Grand National champions Kenny Coolbeth Jr and Jake
Johnson being joined by young flat track star Brandon Robinson.
