The Hero MotoCorp Passion Pro i3S is set to be
relaunched. A report in Overdrive claims that the bike gains
Auto Headlamp On and BSIV compliance.
Powering the Hero Passion Pro i3S is reportedly the
same 97.2 cc mill and not the new indigenously developed mill from the Hero
Splendor iSmart 110. The engine is capable of producing 8.36 PS of maximum
power at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm. Coupled to this
mill is a 4-speed gearbox.
The key USP of the bike is i3S technology which
shuts off the engine when the bike comes to a stop for a few seconds. To wake
up the engine, the rider just has to engage the clutch by pulling the lever.
BSIV emission norms are set to be compulsory for all manufacturers as the
minimum standards their products will have to meet by April 1, 2017. Auto
Headlamp On (AHO) is another safety feature which will be mandatory soon.
Deliveries of the Hero Passion
Pro i3S are reported to be beginning in two weeks. The report adds that the 2017 BSIV compliant Hero
Passion Pro i3S has been priced at INR 55,121 (ex-showroom). An official word
from Hero is awaited.
