KTM India has today also launched the 2017 KTM Duke
200. The bike is essentially a stickered up version of the 2016 model.
The 2017 KTM Duke 200 uses a 199.5 cc single
cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected mill which is coupled to a 6-speed
gearbox. The engine is capable of producing 25 PS of maximum power at 10,000
rpm and 19.2 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 rpm. The bike does not get ride by wire
or slipper clutch.
The bike is suspended over WP sourced upside down
forks up front and a 10 step adjustable (preload) monoshock in the rear. The
KTM Duke 200 gets a 300 mm single disc in the front with a four piston radial
calliper and a 230 mm rear disc with a single-piston floating calliper. ABS
continues to be absent.
The bike retains the old LCD instrumentation which
though gives out all the necessary information, often comes out as cluttered.
The headlight too is a halogen unit to keep prices affordable. The engine is
now BSIV complaint but gets an underbelly exhaust. The tyres have been sourced
from MRF. Colour options include White, Black and Orange.
The 2017 KTM Duke 200 has been priced at INR 143,500
lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), INR 629 cheaper than the 2016 version.
