The Harley Davidson Road King Special is now in a darker theme. The bike loses the windscreen
and gains 9-inch tall ape hanger bars.
Moving away from the chrome surfacing to a black
themed and lowered profile the new Road King Special enters the
realm of neo-classical custom baggers. Powering the bike is a 1,745 cc
Milwaukee Eight 107 mill which is capable of producing 150 Nm of peak torque at
3,250 rpm. The bike tips the scales at 372 kg and can store 22.7 litre of
petrol.
The Road King Special will be
available in four colour options which include Vivid Black, Charcoal Denim, Hot
Rod Red Flake Hard Candy Custom and Olive Gold. The bike gets a twin disc setup
up front and a single in the rear with 4 piston fixed calipers at both ends.
Harley Davidson adds that the Road King Special can have a 31 degree and 32
degree lean angle towards the left and right respectively.
The bike measures 2,420 mm in length and has a seat
height of 695 mm. The latter is higher than the 668 mm seat height of the
standard Road King. The ground clearance too has reduced from 134 mm to 125 mm.
The Harley Davidson Road King Special has a starting
price of US$ 21,999 which is a US$ 3,000 premium over the standard chrome
model.
