Reborn British brand Hesketh launched a new bike at
the Carlole Nash MCN London Show and it's a 2100 cc monster.
Named the Valiant after the cold war bomber, the
bike is based around an absolutely enormous supercharged v-twin, which pushes
out a massive 217 lb-ft of torque with 210 bhp on tap and that figure is just
the start. Hesketh are hoping that this could be somewhere nearer 250 bhp when
the bike is tested later this year.
The supercharger has been supplied by Rotrex and was
developed for the engine in collaboration with forced induction specialists TTS
Performance.
The British marque also wanted to keep things
decidedly British everywhere else they possibly could too, with most of the
engineering and parts made and developed by UK based manufacturers wherever
possible.
Suspension has been taken care of by K-tech and
features the firm's Razor rear shock while responsibility for stopping this
absolute monster has been handed to Pretech with a set of billet 12-piston
calipers up front and a Beringer four-potter on the rear.
Keeping the British theme going is the addition of a
Smiths speedometer, while the frame and swingarm are produced by Nottingham’s
GIA engineering and the billet machined items on the motorcycle have been taken
care of by Billet World in Derby and include the primary drive, rocker covers
and yokes.
The Valiant is also the first Hesketh motorcycle to
feature the company’s large H logo, which belongs to their engineering and
development department and which also won’t be available on production
machines.
The Hesketh Valiant Supercharged will be available
in summer 2018 and will be marketed at a slightly eye-watering £ 50,000.
