Every bad-ass super yacht deserves an equally
bad-ass yacht tender. And when you have
a custom-built yacht that looks like an alien spaceship, your tender needs to
reflect the same qualities. When it
comes to looking like an alien spaceship, we have a feeling the Jet Capsule is
going to win every time.
Designed by Pierpaolo Lazzarini, the thing actually
looks like one of those deep-sea submersibles we see in sci-fi movies, with a
capsule-like dome that easily sets it apart from similarly-sized
watercrafts. Except it's not meant for
exploring the ocean depths, but merely transferring you from the yacht to that
mystical island covered in fog and back.
The Jet Capsule is a small boat designed for easy
maneuvering, all while affording enough space to take out a handful of
friends. It features a powerboat hull
constructed entirely from fiberglass, a 325-hp Yanmar diesel engine (with a
dual engine option), and a Hamilton water jet.
Cruising speed at full load is around 18 knots, although it can attain
max speeds of up to 25 knots for quick escape in case you end up creating some
trouble at the port.
It measures just 23 feet long and 13 feet wide, but
can be outfitted with comfortable seating for up to 9 people (including
driver). They offer four different
layouts for the interior: Empty (a bare cabin so you can outfit it for your
special secret agent needs), Taxi (all seats for day trips and short
transports), Comfort (one long sofa on each side that can be transformed into a
three-person bed), and Living (two sofas that transform to a double bed, a
kitchen and a bathroom).
