Porsche New Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is the most powerful model in the brand’s range right now. 0-100 km/h run in blazing 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 310 km/h.

Tthe Turbo S E-Hybrid ditches the V6 powertrain of Porsche’s other hybrid, the 456 Hp 4 E-Hybrid, for the regular Turbo S’ 542 Hp 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that is paired to a 134 Hp electric motor. Combined, the two deliver a maximum output of 671 Hp and 850 Nm of torque from as low as 1400 Rpm.

It can do all that while returning an average fuel consumption of 2.9 l/100km or 97.4 mpg UK (81.1 mpg US), with CO2 emissions of just 66 g/km. Porsche’s rating for electric power is 16.2 kW/h/100 km. On top of that, the Turbo S E-Hybrid can be driven on fully electric power for up to 50 km.

The electric motor of Porsche’s top plug-in hybrid is supplied with power via a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery with an energy capacity of 14.1 kWh. The battery can be charged in 6 hours via a regular, 10A house socket, or 2.4 hours from the optional 7.2-kW on-board charger with 32A. Users can start the charging process remotely via the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) or the Porsche Connect app (for smartphones and Apple Watch).

Porsche offers the Turbo S E-Hybrid with two wheelbases, the regular and the 5.9-inches (150 mm) longer Executive, which is a tad heavier and slower hitting 60 mph in 3.3 sec (vs 3.2 sec).

Standard equipment for both include 21- inch 911 Turbo Design wheels, Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport (PDCC Sport) with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), Power Steering Plus and Sport Chrono Package. Auxiliary air-conditioning, adaptive aerodynamic elements and a three-chamber air suspension including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) are also standard. The long-wheelbase Executive adds rear axle steering, 8-way power rear seats with comfort head rests, and four zone climate control.

In the US, prices will start at US$ 184,400 for the 2018 Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, and from US$ 194,800 for the Executive version, both excluding US$ 1,050 delivery, processing and handling fee.

We’ll see Porsche’s strongest Panamera yet at the Geneva Motor Show in early March.
