Audi is showcasing the 2017 Audi SQ5 at the 2017
Geneva Motor Show. The S performance variants sit at the top of the second
generation Q5 range.
Compared to 2017 Audi Q5, the 2017 Audi SQ5 is 8 mm
longer and 24 mm lower, and has a 5 mm longer wheelbase. It is 35 kg lighter
than the previous generation model. The performance variant
features LED headlights, sporty bumpers with S-specific air inlets, S-specific
radiator grille with double aluminium slats and contrasting trim elements in
matt twilight gray, S logo with red rhombus, 21-inch wheels, aluminum-look
exterior mirrors, S-specific twin exhaust tailpipes, aluminium rear diffuser
clasp and LED tail lights with dynamic turn signals. To further set apart the
SQ5 from the Q5, customers can specify it with the exclusive panther black
colour.
The interior is dark-toned to continue the sporty
theme inside the vehicle. Illuminate door sills bearing exclusive S logos,
contrasting stitching on the leather steering wheel and sport seats, stainless
steel pedals and footrest and aluminium-look shift paddles round up the
enhancements. All-new Audi SQ5 buyers can specify the S sport seats in
Alcantara/leather as an upgrade in fine Nappa leather with diamond pattern and
a pneumatic massage function.
The 2017 Audi SQ5 is powered by the 3.0-litre TFSI
turbocharged V6 petrol engine that develops 354 PS between 5,400 rpm
and 6,400 rpm and 500 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm. Power is sent to the wheels
via the 8-speed Tiptronic transmission and distributed between them via the
Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. The all-new SQ5 can sprint from 0-100
km/h in 5.4 seconds and claim an electronically governed top speed of 250 km/h.
Its sales will commence in Germany in mid-2017.
