Honda is pretty much done making Civics for a while. The soft-top Civic rendering is happening just because the new hatchback was revealed a couple of days ago. It's called the Civic X and will arrive in America this fall.

The X kind of looks like a boy racer's car, designed to appeal to that young customer every automaker has been chasing. It's got a black grille, huge air intakes, dark wheels and angry-looking headlights.

A convertible seems like a horrible idea in our opinion. It would be far better to have a short-wheelbase targa-style 2-door with a fancy retracting mechanism. X-Tomi Design, consider photoshopping one of those instead. And while you're at it, the Civic Wagon needs to happen again.

With these kinds of projects, it's often the case that customers have a lot more imagination than the automakers.
