The new Isuzu MU-X has made its motor
show debut at the 2017 Bangkok International Motor Show. The facelifted MU-X
was launched for sale in Thailand in February at prices ranging between THB
1.099 million to THB 1.474 million.
New to the 2017 Isuzu MU-X’s exterior are LED
headlamps with a pair of LED DRL strips, sportier front bumper, restyled
18-inch six twin-spoke alloy wheels shod with 255/60 R18 tires, LED-powered
taillights and 60th-anniversary badge on the tailgate.
Inside, the new MU-X comes with a dual tone beige
and black dashboard, beige leather upholstery for the seats, armrest and door
cards, silver garnish on the steering wheel and centre console, as well as faux
wood trim. Isuzu has dropped the old Kenwood touchscreen system for a new
8-inch touchscreen head unit with smartphone mirroring options.
Engine options include an RZ4E-TC 1.9-litre
four-cylinder diesel engine with 150 PS and 350 Nm of torque and the
4JJ1-TCX 3.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine with 177 PS and 380 Nm
of torque. A 6-speed manual is standard in the 1.9L variant, while a 6-speed
Rev Tronic automatic can be equipped in both variants.
According to several local reports, the new MU-X
will come to India later this year. It will be assembled at Isuzu’s new plant
in Andhra Pradesh.
