Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched the 2017 Toyota
Corolla Altis in India yesterday with a starting price of INR 15.88 lakh
(ex-showroom New Delhi). The facelifted Toyota Corolla Altis is now available
for bookings and its deliveries have commenced nationwide.
The Indian-spec 2017 Toyota Corolla
closely resembles the Thai-spec 2017 Toyota Corolla. Up front, the facelifted
model features new radiator grille and fog lamp housing, reshaped air dam
grille, redesigned bumper and new Bi-beam LED headlamps with integrated LED
daytime running lights. New 16-inch alloy wheels give a fresh look to the car
on the sides.
At the rear, there’s more chrome with the new boot
lid garnish, and tweaked tail lamps with LED lighting as standard. With the
facelift, Toyota has added a new ‘Phantom Brown’ shade to the exterior colour
options.
Inside, the 2017 Toyota Corolla features
newly designed instrument panel, new circular HVAC vents on the outer ends of
the revised dashboard and a new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with
MirrorLink. Safety equipment includes 7 airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist,
Vehicle Stability Control and Hill Starting Assist.
The 2017
Toyota Corolla petrol is powered by the 2ZR-FE 1.8-litre Dual VVT-i
four-cylinder petrol unit that produces 140 PS at 6,400 rpm and 173 Nm
of torque at 4,000 rpm, and is available with a 6-speed manual transmission and
a continuously variable transmission. The 2017 Toyota Corolla diesel has the
1ND – TV 1.4-litre D-4D four-cylinder diesel engine that develops 88 PS at 3,800 rpm and 205 Nm of torque between 1,800 rpm and 2,800 rpm. A 6-speed
manual transmission is standard in the diesel model.
