General Motors Indonesia turned out to be quite surprising at the beginning of 2017. After launching the latest generation Trailblazer, at the same time and place also released a new generation of Chevrolet Spark and Trax.


Gaurav Gupta, president of General Motors (GM) Indonesia, said that this was a surprise to the public beginning in Indonesia in 2017. People can instantly have many choices of models presented by Chevrolet.


"With All-New Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Trax models in 2017, we believe that with more products are introduced, consumers will have more choices, for a car with class and global quality," said Gupta, interrupted the launch.


All-New Chevrolet Spark returned to Indonesia by entering a different segments. If before competing in the city car segment, now Spark is equipped with a 1.4 liter engine, ready to fight in the subcompact B-segment (hatchback), with competitor like Toyota Yaris, Honda Jazz, Mazda2, Hyundai i20 and Kia Rio.


This engine is claimed to reach 98 PS at 6.200 rpm, with torque of 124 Nm at 4.400 rpm. Chevrolet hatchback model is priced at IDR 196 million OTR Jakarta.

As for the new Chevrolet Trax is priced at IDR 305 million for the LTZ variant. Chevrolet also presents the cheaper variant dubbed LT at IDR 279 million. In Indonesia, Trax is already present in 2016, and become Chevy’s flagship model in low-segment SUV.


Chevrolet Trax carrying 1.4L DOHC gasoline engine turbocharger, which can issue a power 140 PS with 200 Nm of torque.
