The Kortezh, or Project Cortege spotted in the icy climes of Sweden by Paultan's spy photographer.

Leaked patent documents reveal that Project Cortege is being developed by the Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engines Institute (abbreviated to NAMI in its native Russian).

The report also says that NAMI is partnering with Porsche for the development of key systems including engines and transmission, likely with the use of Zuffenhausen’s range-topping 4.0 litre, twin-turbocharged petrol V8, which produces 550 PS at 5,750 rpm and 770 Nm between 1,960 and 4,500 rpm in the second-gen Panamera Turbo.

It was also reported earlier that a V12 powertrain was also under consideration, though details for both eight- and twelve cylinder versions of the Russian presidential vehicle are scarce. Though primarily commissioned for use by government officials, the Kortezh will be made available to the public after Russian president Vladimir Putin has taken delivery of his official car(s). The Kortezh is tipped to enter production by the end of 2017.
