Tata Motors has finally
launched the Tata Tiago AMT. The Tiago AMT is priced at INR 5.39 lakh
(ex-showroom Delhi) and INR 5.73 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai), and is now on sale
in 597 dealerships nationwide.
The Tata Tiago AMT is powered by the 1.2-litre
Revotron three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 85 PS at 6,000 rpm and 114
Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. The Easy Shift automated manual transmission has
four gear positions – automatic, neutral, reverse and manual. The driver can
choose from two drive modes – Sports and City.
The AMT variant has an inbuilt ‘creep’ feature with
which the car starts gradually accelerating automatically as soon as the
pressure is released from the brake pedal. This function offers ease of driving
in stop-and-go traffic and prevents the car from rolling back when accelerating
from an inclined position.
The Tata Tiago AMT is available solely in a newly
added ‘XZA’ grade, which expands the car’s range to six grades. The company has
not revealed equipment details or updated the website and brochure yet, but
from the naming, it seems like the XZA grade is positioned above the previously
range-topping XZ grade, implying that the Tiago AMT should pack all the
advanced features offered in the car.
These include alloy wheels, two-tone
interior, ConnectNext infotainment system with navigation, audio system with
four speakers and four tweeters, reverse parking sensors, ABS with EBD and CSC
and dual-front airbags.
