Elon Musk has just published the second part of his
master plan for Tesla, and there's not even a hint there about making very
powerful and expensive EVs. Besides, a supercar isn't exactly a very efficient
way of making money, usually serving as image vectors.
However, given the dynamic performances that Tesla's
products have had so far, dreaming of a Palo Alto supercar is perfectly
understandable. The guys at carwow allowed themselves a moment of daydreaming
and came up with this: an electric supercar that would give the LaFerrari a run
for its money. Well, I guess that would make it a hypercar, then.
The Model R, as they called it, would
be the perfect recipient for the monstrous powertrain that made Tesla's
vehicles so drag race-prolific, given the smaller size would also bring lower
weight and improved aerodynamics. The design itself seems a little "last
year" Tesla, with the grille not really matching the current direction
shown by the Model 3 and Model S facelift, but since this is a 100 percent
fantasy car, anything goes.
We're pretty sure that if Tesla were to make a
hypercar, it would most definitely look a lot more ballsy than this. Remember
this is the company that put falcon wings on a fat SUV, so imagine what it
would to with a sleek speed daemon. Actually, we probably can't, but it would
sure be a lot more spectacular and unexpected than what we can see here.
