A YouTube video by Moto Tune reveals that TVS Motor
has started shipping the fuel injected version of the TVS Apache RTR 200 to
dealerships. Previously only the carburetted version was on sale.
The TVS Apache 200 FI is powered by the existing
197.75 cc single cylinder, air cooled mill which is assisted by an oil cooler.
Coupled to a five-speed gearbox the engine is capable of producing 21 PS of
power at 8,500 rpm and 18.1 Nm of peak
torque at 7,000 rpm. The top speed is a claimed 129 km/h.
The fuel injection system has been sourced from
Bosch and can be expected to return a smoother throttle response as well as
increase the fuel economy. The TVS Apache 200 is suspended over standard
telescopic forks up front sourced from KYB and a monoshock in the rear making
it the first TVS motorcycle to bear one.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 FI is already BSIV compliant,
and now even the carburetted version complies to the newer emission norm. The
bike also gains Auto Headlamp On feature. Braking duty is seen by a 270 mm
petal unit in the front and a 240 mm petal disc in the rear. The top end trim
with fuel injection is also set to get dual channel ABS with rear lift off
protection.
At the time of the launch, it was
learnt that the price of the fuel injection version to be around INR 1.15 lakhs
but an official announcement is awaited.
