The French brand’s mid-size van now has a big, big
version. The new Citroen Dispatch range is made up of three versions, with the
XL measuring 5309 mm long, presenting a fair stretch over the middle-ground M
model (4959 mm) and the smallest version, the XS (4609 mm).
It sits on the longest wheelbase – 3275 mm – and has
a load space measuring 2862 mm to the bulkhead, though longer items up to 4024 mm
can be loaded through a port-hole in the base of the bulkhead that extends
under the passenger seat.
The Dispatch XL has a load volume of 6.1 cubic
metres to the bulkhead or 6.6m3 including the porthole, and the rear barn doors
can be opened up to 250 degrees. The payload is between 1247 and 1447
kilograms, with three gross weight options – 2830 kg, 3000 kg or 3100 kg. Towing
is rated at 2500 kg braked.
The model range is powered by a choice of a few
different engines: there’s a 95 hp 1.6-litre turbo diesel with a five-speed
manual or six-speed semi-automated manual, a 2.0-litre turbo diesel with a
six-speed manual in two different power outputs (122 hp/152 hp), while the
flagship model is high-output diesel with a six-speed auto, with 184 hp.
