FCA Brazil has dropped the official name of the Fiat Punto’s successor as well as introduced a microsite for interested folks to register. It will be called the Fiat Argo, and a launch is expected to take place next month.

Commonly known as the Fiat X6H, the Fiat Argo will be based on an all-new platform, and have a wheelbase of just over 2.50 meters. The design is claimed to draw inspiration from the Fiat Tipo hatchback but does have some distinctive elements which, so far, has been hidden under thick camouflage.

Inside, the Argo will feature a three-spoke steering wheel nearly similar to that of the Fiat Tipo, a large MID between the analogue speedometer and tachometer, a free-standing infotainment system with a colour display, and circular central HVAC vents.

The engine options will include 1.3-litre FireFly unit that develops 101 hp and 134.35 Nm of torque running on petrol and 109 hp and 139.25 Nm of torque with ethanol. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and 5-speed Dualogic automated manual transmission.

The top-end Fiat Argo Sporting variant will pack a 1.8-litre EtorQ EVO engine that delivers 135 hp and 184.37 Nm of torque running on petrol and 139 hp and 189.27 Nm of torque running on ethanol.
