Ahead of the Demon getting official,
the folks over at Hennessey Performance have a new tuner Camaro that is meant
specifically to destroy the Demon.
The car is called The Exorcist and it is based on
the ZL1 Camaro and makes 1000 bhp at 6,400 rpm. The car has 966 lb-ft of torque.
All that power is courtesy of a bunch of engine mods with a larger and better
flowing supercharger, improved intercooler and a bump in boost to 14psi. The
factory cylinder heads are ported and the cam is updated along with the
addition of long tube headers and custom engine calibration. The car can be
built on 6-speed manual or 10-speed auto ZL1 camaros.
Those wanting The Exorcist as a turnkey car can
order directly from Chevy dealers. ZL1 owners can send their cars off for
upgrades for US$ 55,000 including a 2/24k warranty. Automatic vehicles do need a
transmission upgrade for another US$ 9,950. The optional drag pack costs another US$ 8,995 and a road race pack is offered with lighter wheels and track tires for US$ 6,995.
