The 2017 Hero Glamour made its world premiere in
Buenos Aires just after the Dakar Rally in January. While implying that the
motorcycle will launch in India at some point, the company issued no further
updates on the launch schedule.
Unlike the version currently sold in India that was
just updated to BS4 spec, the all-new Glamour, developed at Hero’s R&D
facilities in India notably gets a new visor and different alloy wheels. The
bike also gets torque on demand while the exhaust is devoid of chrome.
The air-cooled single cylinder 125 cc OHC engine in
the new Hero Glamour produces a maximum power output of 11.4 bhp at 7500 rpm and maximum torque of 11 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine is forward inclined
while the current motorcycle has a horizontally inclined mill.
Hero Motocorp said at the launch that the Hero
Glamour is 3 percent more efficient than the previous model while the fuel
injected version will have an improvement of 7 percent. The bike gets the i3S
technology, and the start-stop mechanism will be helpful in increasing the real
world efficiency figure. Hero said that the carburettor in the new generation
motorcycle has been upgraded to the ‘CV’ type, while the injection system on
the FI variant was “next-gen”.
The all new Hero Glamour is expected to launch in India
soon in the carburetted as well as fuel injected version.
