The Husqvarna brand is attempting to enter the
street motorcycle segment with the Vitpilen family. Designer Shoeb Kalania has
rendered a production version of the Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 Aero which is
inspired from the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 Aero showcased at the EICMA 2016.
Powering the bike can be the same 690 cc single
cylinder liquid-cooled mill from the Supermoto 701 which is sourced from KTM.
In the KTM 690 Duke, coupled to a 6-speed gearbox, the engine is capable of
producing 73.41 PS of maximum power. The engine setup in the Husqvarna Vitpilen
701 Aero can be in the same tune as the naked cafe racer.
Features like ride by wire, slipper clutch, LED
headlamp and dual channel ABS can be expected to be standard. Even the TFT
instrumentation may be borrowed from the KTM Duke 390. The suspension system
can be sourced from WP, just as the rest of the product portfolio.
Husqvarna is expected to introduce the production
version of the Husqvarna Vitpilen 701 at EICMA 2017.
