The 2017 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 has been updated
on the Indian website. Changes include hardware upgrade for BSIV compliance and
new colour options.
The 499 cc single cylinder mill, coupled to a
5-speed gearbox, is no longer carburetted. The air-cooled, fuel injected mill
is capable of producing 27.2 bhp of maximum power at 5,250 rpm and 41.3 Nm of
peak torque at 4,000 rpm. Both power and torque figures have experienced a
minor increase.
The Royal Enfield Bullet 500 in India gets a 280 mm
disc up front and a 153 mm drum brake in the rear. The international variant
though gets a rear disc and ABS. Other features include a new grabrail and MRF
Zapper tyres. The colour options include Marsh Grey, Forest Green and Black.
The bike is suspended over standard 35 mm telescopic
forks up front and twin shocks in the rear with 5-step adjustable preload. The
2017 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 tips the scales at 194 kg and has can store
13.5-litre of petrol.
Royal Enfield is yet to make a formal announcement
on the 2017 Royal Enfield Bullet 500, and is expected to update us on the BSIV
range in the next few days.
