The Royal Enfield Classic 500 in the ‘Lagoon’ paint
scheme has been showcased at the Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) 2017. The
bike gets a white paint stripe on the front and rear fender.
At the heart of the Royal Enfield Classic 500 Lagoon
is a 499 cc single cylinder, air-cooled mill. Coupled to a 5-speed gearbox the
fuel injected engine is capable of producing 27.2 bhp of maximum power at 5,250
rpm and 41.3 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm. The bike tips the scales at 190 kg
(kerb). The bike is suspended on 35 mm telescopic forks up
front and twin gas charged shock absorbers with 5-step adjustable preload.
The export variant gets a 19-inch front wheel (the
Indian trim gets 18-inch wheel at both ends) and an 18-inch wheel in the rear.
The bike can store 13.5-litre of petrol and has a seat height of 725 mm. Brakes
include a 280 mm disc up front with a 2 piston caliper and a 153 mm drum setup
in the rear.
The Royal Enfield Classic 500 has a sticker price of
THB 189,800 in Bangkok.
