Tata Motors confirmed that they would expand the Tigor range further. While a crossover-styled ‘Tigor Aktiv’ like the Tata Tiago Aktiv is unlikely, a variant like a ‘Tigor Sport’ is the next derivative, as per an Autocar India report, through Tata’s 50:50 joint venture with Jayem Automotives for performance cars.

With the Tata Bolt Sport cancelled, the Tata Tiago Sport was reported last year as one of the future products to arrive from Tata Motors. The Tata Tigor could follow with a Sport variant packing featuring similar mechanical attributes.

The Tata Tigor is currently available with the 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 85 PS at 6,000 rpm. On the Tigor Sport, the engine could be stretched to make 95 PS in the first stage, and later dialled up to output 110 PS. A 5-speed manual transmission could be standard.
