The updated 2017 Isuzu D-Max range may already have
a staggering 23 variants available, but apparently there’s room for one more, the 2017 Isuzu D-Max X-Runner.
This limited edition model is based on the 4×4 Isuzu
D-Max model features the updated 3.0-litre turbo diesel four-cylinder engine
with 177 Hp/430 Nm, and it comes exclusively with the newly-developed Aisin
six-speed automatic gearbox.
The X-Runner model is available in two colours –
Cosmic Black and Silky White Pearl, which is exclusive to this variant – and
features a range of cosmetic changes inside and out. The X-Runner gets red
badges and decals, new alloy wheels, gunmetal grey side steps, a black sports
bar, heavy duty tub liner and rear parking sensors.
The interior sees new dark grey trim with piano
black accents, red and black seat trim as well as red stitching and a red badge
on the steering wheel. The X-Runner has single-zone climate control, and unlike
the EX and SX models it comes with a standard rear-view camera that displays
through its touchscreen media unit. The model is said to mark 100 years of
Isuzu, and as such it gets a motif on the tailgate.
The 2017 Isuzu D-Max X-Runner is priced at AUD 46,990
drive-away, making it an appealing proposition, and not that much dearer than a
base model 4×4 dual-cab auto (the SX, which costs AUD 46,000 plus on-roads). Only
600 examples of the X-Runner variant will be available.
