Yet another special-edition Subaru has quietly
arrived in recent weeks, with the 2017 BRZ Sports Pack special edition on sale
from AUD 36,694 before on-road costs. The
Sports Pack doesn’t add any engine upgrades over the standard car, though there
are several visual and equipment upgrades to give the Toyota 86 twin a little
more street cred.
The BRZ Sports Pack gets a
Brembo brake system, Sachs suspension, new 17-inch alloy wheels, a black rear
wing, black mirrors, black shark fin antenna, and black badging at the rear.
Representing a price increase of AUD 2300 over the BRZ Premium Pack (AUD 1500) –
which in itself adds heated leather/suede seats over the standard BRZ – the
Sports Pack starts at AUD 36,694 with the six-speed manual and AUD 38,694 with the
optional six-speed automatic transmission.
Under the bonnet is a 2.0-litre
horizontally-opposed boxer petrol engine, developing 205 Hp/212 Nm in manual form
and 197 Hp/205 Nm in auto guise. Just 150 of the Sports Pack specials are
available – 100 manuals and 50 automatics – and it’s available in four no-cost
colours; WR Blue pearl, Pure Red, Dark Grey metallic and Crystal White pearl.
