Pricing and specifications for the 2017 Toyota Yaris
have been published on the company’s website. The second facelift for
the Yaris is distinguished by its new headlights, grille, front and rear
bumpers, and redesigned tail-lights that now stretch into the car’s new
tailgate.
The revised three-tier Yaris range kicks off with
the Ascent, which starts at AUD 15,290 for the five-speed manual and AUD 16,820 for
the four-speed automatic. The Ascent features a 1.3-litre
four-cylinder petrol engine making 86 Hp of power at 6000 rpm, and 120 Nm of
torque at 4600 rpm.
Standard features include 15-inch steel wheels with
175/65 tyres, a rear-view camera, seven airbags, electric power steering, front
disc brakes, a space-saving spare tyre, cloth seats, and 60/40 split-fold rear
seats.
The infotainment system features a 6.1-inch touchscreen,
a six-speaker sound system, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and controls on the
spokes of the steering wheel. The Toyota Safety Sense package, incorporating
lane departure warning, automatic high beam operation, and a pre-collision
safety system is an optional extra.
Next up is the SX, pricing for which begins a AUD 17,330 for the five-speed manual and AUD 18,860 for the four-speed automatic.
While the 15-inch steel wheels are unchanged, the SX does benefit from a larger
1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that generates 109 Hp of power at 6000 rpm,
and 141 Nm of torque at 4400 rpm.
Extra inclusions at this level include front fog
lights, and a ‘premium’ three-spoke steering wheel. At the top of the latest
Yaris range is the ZR that’s fitted exclusively with a four-speed automatic and
is priced from AUD 22,470. Standard features on the ZR include 15-inch alloy
wheels, bi-LED headlights, satellite navigation, climate control air
conditioning, sports front seats, and the Toyota Safety Sense package.
