Hyundai has started
development of the facelifted Hyundai ix25 in China. The facelifted Hyundai Creta (Hyundai ix25) has its
front and rear covered in dense camouflage. However, a closer look does reveal
a new front grille hiding beneath the camouflage.
The facelift could make the
B-SUV look similar to the Brazilian-spec Hyundai Creta that debuted at the 2016
Sao Paulo Auto Show and is on sale in Brazil. The new Creta should feature
updated headlamp and tail lamp graphics, reshaped fog lamps, more aggressive
bumpers and new design wheels.
Inside, the 2018 Hyundai Creta should get new
dashboard trim, fresh seat upholstery choices, revised instrument cluster and
an upgraded infotainment system among other changes. Hyundai
could bring some equipment revisions with the mid-cycle update.
The Chinese-spec Hyundai Creta (Hyundai ix25) is
offered with 123 hp 1.6-litre Gamma naturally aspirated, 158 hp 2.0-litre Nu and 158 hp 1.6-litre Gamma turbocharged
petrol engines. 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed dual-clutch
automatic are the transmission choices, along with optional 4WD. HMIL may not
plan for expensive powertrains, but the Indian-spec version could gain
mild-hybrid tech with the facelift, while retaining the current 1.4- and
1.6-litre engine options.
