The Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder has been
spied near and in the Volkswagen Group’s Nurburgring test centre. The Huracan Performante Spyder looks like it will carry over
all of the exterior modifications from its fixed roof sibling, including new
front and rear fascias, a high mounted set of exhaust tips, and a large rear
wing.
We expect the Huracan
Performante Spyder to be powered by a modified 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated
V10 engine. Equipped with a new bronze manifold, a redesigned exhaust, and
titanium valves, the Huracan Performante coupe’s engine develops 640 hp of power
at 8000 rpm, and 600 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm. That’s an extra 27 hp and 40 Nm over
the Huracan LP610-4.
Fitted with all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch
transmission as standard, the Performante coupe is capable of reeling off the
0-100k m/h standard in 2.9 seconds, going from 0-200 km/h in 8.9s, and hitting a
top speed of over 325 km/h.
The Huracan
Performante coupe has a dry weight of 1382 kg, or 40 kg less than regular Huracan. The weight
reduction is primarily thanks to a “forged composite” of aluminium and
carbon-fibre, which is used for the front and rear spoilers, bonnet, bumpers,
diffusers, cabin air vents, shifter paddles, centre console trim, and door
handles.
The Huracan Performante coupe made its debut in
March at the 2017 Geneva motor show. That suggests the Spyder version is still
a few months away, with the earliest likely debut at the Frankfurt
motor show in September 2017.
