Leaked brochure images of the Honda Jazz facelift, have made their way onto the internet thanks to
Twitter user @Ren_games_ and CarDrive. The new Jazz (or Fit in
Japan) will reportedly be released in June this year, featuring a series of
aesthetic changes. The redesigned front end sees the addition of chrome trim
above the Honda logo, and the sharper (possibly LED) headlights also receive
their own chrome extensions.
We can see that the previous chrome wing piece positioned below the brand’s
logo has been removed as well. Moving to the rear, the Jazz appears to remain
largely unchanged, save for the new lower apron that now has a chrome outline
at the bottom.
As for engines, the new Jazz looks to continue on
with the familiar 1.5 litre and 1.3 litre i-VTEC petrol engines. Also available
is a hybrid powertrain that consist of a 1.5 litre i-VTEC Atkinson-cycle
engine, an electric motor, a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a
lithium-ion battery.
No mention of a downsized 1.0 litre turbo engine as
reported earlier, as that may be reserved for the next-gen model that is said
to arrive in 2019. It is also noted that the Honda Sensing suite of safety and
driver assistance systems will be another addition to the Jazz, along with six
new exterior body colours.
